<p>The focus is usually on giving the best treatment to patients and this is important, but you MUST focus on getting new patients or you will not have anyone to treat. This can be a vicious cycle but doesn’t have to be.</p>
<p>With some hard work you can get a steady flow of new patients each month by incorporating a few different marketing strategies.  It is important to note that relying on just one might not be a good idea but focusing on more than a few things can become overwhelming.  Below are some of the most important things every DC in private practice should be doing.</p>

<p>Networking events can be found by doing a simple search on Google or joining your local chamber of commerce.  Every DC should be out in the community they serve meeting new people.  Even if you are shy – bite the bullet- get out there and talk to other business owners and you will be surprised how effective this can be.</p>
<p>Ask existing patients for referrals. This seems like a no brainer but in the rush to get a practice going it can be overlooked, and if it is, you are passing up a rich source of new patients.  Who better to promote you than satisfied patients.</p>
<p>Print advertising cannot be ignored. Local papers can be an inexpensive way to begin to penetrate a local market.  In addition to that you could focus on a mailer to new homeowners in the area that you serve or if you budget allows- to all homeowners in an area.</p>
